Phra That Harinphunchai
This monastery is approximately 150 from the township area, built in the reign of King Athittayarat and
has been repaired, renewed, and enlarged form time to time. Phrathat Hariphunchai Pagoda is currently 46 meters high
having nine-tiered umbrella, made of gold weighing approximately 6,498.75 grams, placing on the top. The base is of
square shape with 20 meters in length on each side. On every full moon day of the sixth lunar month, there is a
celebration of this Wat Phrathat in term of the annual fair.

National Museum
Nearby is located Hariphunchai National Museum which houses numerous Lanna antiques found in the region. The museum
is opened to public everyday except Monday, Tuesday and religious holidays from 09.00 a.m. - 04.00 p.m. Admission fee is
10 Baht.

Chamthewi Monument
The monument is located at Tambon Nai Muang in the area of Nong Dok Public Park in Lamphun Municipality. Queen
Chammathewi was the first ruler of Hariphunchai or Lamphun.
 Wat
Chamthewi (Suwan Changkot Chedi)
commonly referred to a Ku Kut Pagoda, this monastery was built around A.D.755 by the Khmer artisans. The pagoda
structure is of the square Buddha Gaya characteristic as seen is India. Three standing Buddha images, in the
attitudes of blessing are enshrined on each level of the pagoda base of each side total 15 images for one side of five
levels, grand total 60 Buddha images around the pagoda. Relics of Queen Chamma Thewi, the first ruler of
Hariphunchai, are housed covered with gold but later, was broken and disappeared thus being called by the inhabitants Ku
Kut or Pagoda without top.

Phra Yun
The Ku Chang-Ku Mah Chedi, A wat with standing Buddha, located in Tambon Wiangyong about 1 km., from the city. The
attractions here include very old Buddha image and the engraved stones in Ramkhamhaeng period which tell how Phra
Sumonthera and King Kuna built this wat.

Mahawan
Closed to the central of the city built by Queen Chammathewi more than 1300 years ago, is nationally famous for "Phra Rot
Lamphoon" Buddha image amulets.
Khamo Hill
Located in Tambon Makhuajae in Amphoe Muang. It is only 200 meters in height and have about-an-acre flat land on the
top, but it is fascinating that it has a really deep natural water well on its top which never dries up. This water
in considered sacred, which has been used as sacred water in all coronations of The King of Thailand.

Ruesi Monument
A monument, on top of Doi Ti, to commemorate the founder of Hariphunchai in 660 A.D. Princess Chamthewi of Lawo became the
first Monarchy ruler of Hariphunchai because of his invitation for her installation.

Hong
is the site of a 1,400-year-old community dating back to the Hariphunchai Kingdom. Located
some 40 kilometers to the south of Lamphun, it offers a scenic and delightful vista of green fields and mountains. It also
has several old temples built in admirable indigenous style, e.g., Wat Phra Chao Ton Luang with its 600-year-old Buddha
statue.

In Tambon Nongchangkhun, Amphoe Muang, 11 km. from the city, grows longan trees and farms bees for honey.

It is known as Wat Anantharam also well-known for Phra Khong, one of the most highly respected Buddha image amulets.

Phra Bat Huai Tom
Located in Tambon Na Sai, 10 kms. south of Amphoe Li. The attractions are Wat Phrabat Huai Tom, Karen hilltribe
village and a laterite source.
About 2
kilometers from Li is a group of five old pagoda known as the Chedi Ha Duang The site is
believed to have been an ancient town. Covering an area of over 1,000 square kilometers is the
Mae Ping National Park.
Its main feature is the Ping River, which flows through the forests in the park. On both sides
are fertile forest-lands with sheer cliffs providing beautiful natural scenery. Certain parts
of the waterway spread out to form reservoir-like bodies of water with numerous small islands and rapids.
Another
attraction is the 7-level Ko Luang Waterfall, which is fed from lime streams. It is just
20 kilometers from the park headquarters and accessible by road. Fascinating stalactites and stalagmites are to be found
inside nearby lime caves. Tourists wishing to stay overnight are recommended to contact park headquarters, which are
located some 20 kilometers off Highway No.106 at Km.47.
Karen
Phatthana Huai La Village
Situated at Ban Huai La, Mu 3, Tambon Pa Phly, the village is approximately 50 kms. from Lamphun township on Lamphum-Li
Road. The village itself is 500 meters from the main road. It is a wholly Karen village which strictly adheres
to its traditions. Interesting activities include a traditional way of weaving cloth by using the hips as a loom.
The finished product has its own unique colors.

An ancient Buddha of stucco work housed in Wat Phra Chao Ton Luang, Moo 1, Tambon Lao Ya-ow, Amphoe Ban Hong.

Located at Pa Ploo village which is far from Ban Hong district office about 15 kms. Plentiful of stalagmites and
stalagmites in the cave.

Local products shops or cloth market at Pa Sang, Amphoe Pa Sang has long been famous for its lovely women. It is
the site of northern Thailand's famed cloth market. The market offers batiks, clothes for boutiques, silk and native
clothes, woodcarving, woven hats, and assorted souvenirs.

Phra Phutthabat Tak Pha
The footprints are located on the top of a small hill in the area of Tambon Makok, Amphoe Pa Sang, 16 kms. From the
township area. The legend says that Lord Buddha left his footprints during his visit to that locality for Lawa
tribal people to pay their homage to in lieu of he himself. He also dried his saffron robe on the cliff which one,
at present, can see a mark like a piece of saffron robe being dried there thus originating the name of Tak Pha Buddha
Footprints or "Drying Saffron Robe Buddha Footprints" in English.
Annual celebration takes place on the eighth day of waning moon of the sixth lunar month of every
year when inhabitants of Lamphun and neighboring towns flock to such annual fair.
Erawan
Cave
Located in Mu 6, Tambon Nakorn Chedi, thirty kilometers from Pasang Li Road and another fifteen kilometers on Mae Ao Huey
Fai Road. Plentiful of beautiful stalagmites and stalactites in the cave.

Khun Tan National Park
is located on a mountain range bordering on both Lampang and Lamphun. There is a 1,362 meter long tunnel, regarded
the longest one in Thailand, for railroad lying under the mountain. Other attractions are Peak 1 with its rest
houses of the State Railway of Thailand, Peak 2 with the vast pine forest there,
highly conductive for camping and the
site of the house belonging to M.R. Kukrit Pramoj, Peak 3 which is lined by large forests and has houses of missionaries
and Peak 4 which gives an great view of Lampang City. Moreover, Doi Khun Tan has many waterfalls worth visiting

Ping National Park
The tourist attractions in the National Park are such as Kor Waterfall, Phloenta Cliff and Mae Ping Lake which covers a
large region with 98 km. in length.
One can go there by taking Highway No.106 (Lamphun - Li) and about 3 kms. From Amphoe Li
turn right for some 25 kms. on Highway No.1087. Bungalows are available near the park office. Another place
for accommodation is Tha Nam Kor raft, operated by the Royal Forestry Department, in the lake north of Bhumibol Dam.
