Our tour started at 8 a.m. by bus which dropped us off at the starting point outside of Mae Hong Son. The only things you need are long trousers, long sleeved shirts, mosquito protection, water and of course some sweets for the hill tribe children.

Khun Suthone, an excellent cook, takes care of your food which is included in the trek. The first day is filled with a walk uphill right to the top of the mountain, which rewards you with a fantastic view over Mae Hong Son Province.

After stopping for a visit the way goes downhill with a break at a waterfall for refreshments and follows the riverbed back to the road. All in all it is an amazing adventure.
