Cultural Exhibition Hall
is located near Wat Sri Khom Kham. Displays of Phayao's ancient chronicles, cultures and traditions are shown. The hall is open Wednesdays-Sundays from 9.00 A.M. until 4.00 P.M. Tel. (054) 410058-9.

Wat Sri Khom Kham
This monastery is located in Muang District on the bank of Phayao Lake, commonly called by the villagers "Phra Chao Ton Luang" housing a Buddha image having the lap width of 14 meters, and a height of 16 meters. 
The annual temple fair take places in May.

Doi Chom Thong
This is a small hill, located on the bank of Phayao Lake which has an access road of 1.5 kms. distance branching off the Phaholyothin Road. On the top of the hill there is a  Buddhist Monk Community which is generally called by the villagers "Phrathat Chom Thong".

Mortar-Making Village
This village is located at Ngin Village, Ban Thoon Subdistrict. It is north of Phayao on Mae Thum - Mae Jai road. The distance south from Doi Busarakham Route 1193 is 7 kms. Most of people in this village make spice grinding mortars and send them to sell in the city market nearby.

Kwan Phayao 
This natural lake having clear and clean water occupies a space of 12,831 rais. It is beautiful and a breeding source for fresh water fishes, especially the freshwater pla buek catfish. There are a lot of food shops located along the bank suitable for dining and relaxing in the evening in during the sunset.

Doi Luang National Park
is a mountainous park spread across the areas of Phayao. Chiang Rai and Lampang.  It is also a watershed of Kwan Phayao, Wang River and the Lao River.  Attractions here include the Champathong Waterfall, and the Wang kaeo Waterfall.  To arrive at this national park, take Highway 1 and continue for another 9 kms. from Ban Pu Kaeng intersection.

Phayao Fishery Station
This is an important fish breeding site that serves as a laboratory as well. It is well known for the success of breeding the Giant Cat Fish which is the biggest fresh water fish in the world.

Champa Thong Waterfall
This beautiful waterfall is situated in the area of village No.9, Tambon Baan Tam, 18 kms. from Amphoe Muang. It is accessible by an all weather laterite road.

Wat Ananyo Buddhist and Doi Busarakham
is 17 kms. north of the municipality along Routes 1-1193. This beautifully decorated retreat has an area for Buddhist instruction and meditation.

Thai Lue Culture Centre
These tribal people originally resided in the territory of Sib Song Panna Kingdom before migrating into Thailand and settled their homeland at Chiang Kham and Chiang Muan over 150 years ago. Their beautiful sophisticated hand woven silk and cotton fabrics, are sold in their villages. At present, Thai Lue people have established their own culture center at Ban Yuan Village in Chiang Kham. The objective of this culture center is to promote craft skill training and preserve their culture which is entirely unique from those of other tribes.

Wat Phra Thra That Sop Waen
lies 4 kms off Chiang Kham district on Highway 1021, displaying an ancient pagoda estimated to be 700 - 800 years old.  The pagoda, which still reveals its great Lanna architecture despite being restored many times, contains the Buddha's hair and chin bone.

Wat Saen Muang Ma 
In the regin of king Rama 1 in the yaer 1808 the ruler of Nan transferred population of Tai Yai ethniic people from Muang Mang in Burma and relolocate them in amphoe Chiang Muan. Among the captives were Phya Kham and Phya Thana rulers of twins in Sip Son Pan Na. Later they led the people to amphoe Chiang Kham and named their new settlement " Ban Mang". These people constructed a temple in the Thai Yai style of art in combination with Burmese. The temple was originally named Wat Mang but later changed its name to Wat Saen Muang Ma.

Phu Sang Waterfall
This waterfall is located at Phu Sang Sub district, 96 kilometers from the provincial town. It cascades from a cliff having the height of 8 meters

Wiang Lo Historical site
is assumed by archaeologists to be a city of Pho Khun Ngam Muang's era.  The remains of the city wall and deserted temples are found alongside Wat Si Ping Muang, which still exists.  Next to this historical site is the meeting point of the Chun stream with the Ing River, earning it the name "Sop Ing".  To this site, take Highway 1021 for 17 kms. to Ban Huai Ngiao, and continue for another 12 km to Ban Nam Chun via the dirt road.
