Location : Amphoe Kho Kut(Koh Kood)
Around Koh Kut or Koh Kood This island is the farthest island from the coast of Trat. Its size ranks it as the fourth largest island in Thailand or the second largest island next to Koh Chang in Trat. The island, which is 25 kilometers long and 12 kilometers wide covers an area of approximately 105 square kilometers or 65,625 rai. Its natural features include mountains and plains where many streams originate and become waterfalls. One famous waterfall is Nam Tok Khlong Chao, which flows throughout the year and is an ideal place for swimming as it is comprised of 3 tiers; of which the upper two tiers are running streams and the lower one is a large pond. In 1911, King Rama VI paid a royal visit to this waterfall and named it 'Nam Tok Anam Kok' to commemorate Ong Chiang Su. In addition; there are beaches with crystal-clear seas which are popular among visitors such as Taphao Beach, Khlong Chao Beach, Khlong Hin Beach, Phrao Beach, etc. Accommodations with a private atmosphere is available for visitors at the inner sea of Koh Kut, and the other two islands, Koh Rat and Koh Mai Si, opposite to Koh Kut.

Getting to Koh Kut
There are boats from Koh Chang to Koh Kut three times a week (Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday). Please ask for the departure times of the ferries from Laem-Ngop Pier to Koh Kut at the pier.
Infrastructure on Koh Kut
Koh Kut The island is rather flat compared to Koh Chang with the highest mountain on the island, Khao Phaenth, measuring 315 metres. It has a good number of wonderful beaches with crystal clear water (Ta Pho Beach, Khlong Chao Beach, Thakian Beach, Phrao Beach etc.). Inland, the island is very wild with a lot of coconut and rubber tree plantations located in the plains.
Population on Koh Kut
Most of the island inhabitants live off of the cultivation of coconut, rubber production or fishing. But meanwhile the expanding tourism industry gives more and more work to the less than 2,000 residents.
The best time to go to Koh Kut
The best time for a visit to Koh Kut is between beginning of November and the end of February. At this time it is relatively cool, dry and mostly sunny. But until the end of May, when it is hotter than the cool season, a visit is still convenient. Even during monsoon season, Koh Kut is worth visiting for it doesnt rain every day and all day long.
Activities on Koh Kut
Besides lazing on the beach, snorkeling at the beautiful coral reefs or just watching stars at night; visitors can also visit nearby islands for snorkeling and other activities.

Some of the more expensive Resorts on Koh Kut offer Banana-, Donut-boat-trips and water-skiing. In addition visitors can do drop line fishing at the beaches and bays or rent a boat over night (about 3000 Baht) in order to try night time fishing.
Sights on Koh Kut
The village Aow Salad (Baan Aow Salad) in the Salad Bay (Aow Salad) is located in the northeast part of the island. It is the biggest fishing village on Koh Kut fresh seafood can be bought every day.

The marvelous waterfall Nam Tok Khlong Chao or Than Sanuk Waterfall, which was visited by King Rama VI in 1911, is one of the most beautiful spots to be found on Koh Kut. It consists of 3 tiers: the upper two are running streams and the lower one is a large pond - an ideal place for swimming.

Koh Wai, this small paradise is situated approximately 6 kilometers south of the southernmost end of Koh Chang The island is about 3 kilometers long, in the widest point 1.5 kilometers and has some very beautiful sandy beaches.

Koh Wai is reached daily by a boat starting at 3.00 pm from the Laem-Ngop-Pier. The travel time is 2.5 hours and costs 130 Baht.

Koh Mak
Location : Amphoe Kho Kut(Koh Kood)
Around Koh Mak This is a large island to the south of Koh Chang that is blessed with several beautiful bays and beaches and coral reefs nearby that are still in perfect condition. The islanders make their living by growing rubber and coconut trees. The best time to visit is from November until late April. There are a number of accommodations and tourist facilities available. A passenger boat departs Laem Ngob daily at 3.00 p.m. and returns from Koh Mak at 7.00 a.m., traveling time is 3.5 hours.
Koh Rang
Location : Amphoe Kho Kut(Koh Kood)
This small island at the west of Koh Mak does not have enough flat area suitable for setting up of any resorts and bungalows. However, Koh Rung is well known as the location for its birds nest concessions, sea turtle eggs and bat's dung. The main attractions at the island are the stone knolls and the magnificent deep-sea corals.
Koh Kradat
Location : Amphoe Kho Kut(Koh Kood)
This island is situated to the northeast away from Koh Mak. In the past, the area had an abundance of Kradad trees (paper trees); hence, the name of the island. This island is notable for the fact that it is the only island in Thailand to be issued a land title deed during the period of King Rama V as a measure to protect the island from French colonization. Koh Kradad is famous for its white long sandy beach and wonderful coral reefs.
Koh Kham
Location : Amphoe Kho Kut(Koh Kood)
This island is located near Koh Mak and is endowed with natural wonders such as crystal clear seas, chie sandy beaches, coral reefs and most importantly, tranquility and privacy. Ideal for swimming and diving, the trip to Koh Kham from Laem Ngob takes 2.5 hours.
Koh Rang Koh Kradat Koh Kham
Location : Amphoe Laem Ngob
is an isle near the land of Baan Laem Aun. Therefore, transportation to the isle is very convenient and safe in every season. Koh Pui is very convenient and safe in every seson. Koh Pui is very cool and shady as it is plenty of coconut trees and herb orchard. Situated on the isle is the well the clay of which once was used to make white chalk, used by former Thai people as an after bath. The well was once visited by King Rama V during his royal trip to Trat. Beaches on Koh Pui are the mixture of slush and sand. Thus, the area is not appropriate for swimming but for serene rest. A boat trip for hire to Koh Pui is available at Laem Ngob and Laem Aun, 5 minutes from Laem Ngob-Baan San Tung Intersection along 3156 Highway.
Ban Salak Khok Community
Location : Amphoe Koh Chang
The village of "Ban Salak Khok" is situated at Moo 3, Koh Chang, King Amphoe Koh Chang. (After disembark the ferry from the main land, turn left toward Ban Ao Luk). The villagers have established Ban Salak Khok Community Tour Club to introduce a healthy range of eco-tourism activities with a touch of modern management, fix tour guide fees, detailed income ststement, good rules of income distribution. Additionally, trainings for tour leaders and local tour guides, as well as trainings on how to implement environmentalism activities are also conducted. This community won Thailand Tourism Awards in the category of The Most Outstanding Tourism-based Community in the year 2007.

Koh Pui Ban Salak Khok Community Tree Top Adventure Park

is situated on Trat-Klong Yai Road about 5 Km from the 31 of the right of the 318 Highway. Location : Amphoe Muang

Hat Banchuen, formerly called Hat Maro, is located in Trat before Amphoe Khlong Yai on Highway 318 (Trat-Khlong Yai), between Km 59 and 60. When getting to the junction, turn right and go on for about 3 km. This beach has delicate sand grain and clear sea water where it is possible to swim. Bangalows for rent are available near the beach.
Lan Sai Beach Saphan Hin Waterfall Hat Banchuen (Banchuen Beach)
Location : Amphoe Klong Yai
is situated 5 Kilometer far from Km. 57-58 on the right of 318 Highway. The footpath down to the beach is in front of the community center. Location : Amphoe Klong Yai

Samran Beach (Hat Mai Rood) Sai Kaew Beach Sai Ngam Beach
Location : Amphoe Laem Ngob
is situated in Tambon Bang Pid, 12 Km. from Amphoe Laem Ngob along 3156 Highway and 8 Km. from Laem Ngob -Baan San Tung. Intersection. The area is 4 Km. from the main road. Beautiful sandy beaches that are popular with the local people during holidays. lies 17 Km. away from the inner city of Trat along 3184 Highway. The big pier where tourists can get ferry service to islands such as Koh Chang, Koh Kradat, Koh Wai, Koh Kood etc is about 500 meter far from the Office of the Amphoe. Besides, in the area tourists can find shops selling souvenirs, sea food shops and other products like shrimp paste, dried shrimp fish sauce and ngob (kind of hat worn by Thai female peasants made of bamboos and plam leaves) of different patterns
